Prisons are built for public safety with the hope that prisoners who harmed society learn to embrace society through their incarceration and/or the prison’s rehabilitation programming.
The Kronos Project is a prison program that overcomes four key factors that prisons cannot address in their rehabilitation efforts, thus hampering a prisoner’s potential rehabilitation.
The Kronos Project program overcomes these four factors by allowing Kronos participants to grow into a new way of thinking and living. The program restores human dignity to those who have lost or never experienced their dignity. The program is intensive. Ten-months. Spiritually directed. Plus, it has a wonderful creation story.
The program succeeds because of eight factors. The curriculum strikes at the root cause of a prisoner’s criminality by helping them find their true self. Prisoners experience an internal personality change in their values and beliefs, altering their behavior.
The Kronos Project is innovative for three reasons:
(1) The program changes lives from the inside out for all prisoners. This includes the prison’s influencers, lifers, long-termers, gang leaders, hard-timers, and non- believers. The program is designed to work with prisoners early in their incarceration. This is not a reentry program.
(2) The program creates a safer prison culture. Program graduates return to the general population and begin mentoring other prisoners. An additional benefit is that upon their prison release, program graduates benefit communities through prosocial reintegration and reduced recidivism.
(3) Two organizations are required to implement The Kronos Project in a prison, a parent company to fund and/or manage the Project’s daily operations, and a host prison where the program is conducted.
The Kronos Project is different thinking! Please contact Jeff or Willie if you are interested in placing a Kronos Project pilot into a host prison.
