…Root-Cause Rehabilitation is a concept worthy of further thought. Root-Cause Content gives us different ways to do something with that thinking.
What is Root-Cause Content? Seeds for introducing Root-Cause Rehabilitation thinking. Books. Short stories. A film. A question. A conversation. An experience. Each may provide an opportunity for an inmate to stop, think, question an old belief, or see something differently.
We have begun developing creative content around themes we believe may be relevant to lasting internal change while incarcerated. Choices. Consequences. Identity. Beliefs. Relationships. Responsibility. Dignity. Community. And the realities that helped shape the person who eventually arrived at the prison gate.
Our content takes different forms.
The Kronos Project uses a fictional novel to imagine what ten months of Root-Cause Rehabilitation might look like.
The Kronos Project Facilitator Guide uses the novel to bring some of those questions into a facilitated conversation.
Kronos Choices uses a short film to invite inmates to think about choices, consequences, and what happened before the choice was made.
Kronos Prison Reads uses stories to plant Root-Cause Rehabilitation concepts without telling the reader what to think.
None of our content is intended to produce transformation. Transformation happens experientially, not intellectually.
Our content is seed planting. Introduce an idea. Challenge an old belief. Start a conversation. Perhaps even cause someone to turn around and look in a different direction.
Our Root-Cause Content is just a start. There is a universe of content waiting to be created around Root-Cause Rehabilitation.
