Facilitator Guide…

…The Kronos Project Facilitator Guide was designed for a workshop that uses the Kronos Project novel to explore themes we now associate with Root-Cause Rehabilitation.

The Kronos Project novel tells a story. The Kronos Project Facilitator Guide can turn that story into a conversation. The Guide provides a structured way for inmates and a facilitator to begin considering some of the questions behind Root-Cause Rehabilitation.

The Kronos Project novel follows a group of fictional inmates through a ten-month experience. The Facilitator Guide takes situations, characters, questions, and themes from that novel and brings them into a much shorter workshop setting.

Participants can talk about what happened in the story without immediately having to talk about themselves. Why did a character make that choice? What did they believe about themselves? What experiences may have shaped that belief? What might they have done differently?

Sometimes talking about someone else’s story can make it easier to begin thinking about your own. The Guide explores themes that run throughout Root-Cause Rehabilitation—choices, consequences, identity, beliefs, relationships, responsibility, dignity, community, and the realities that may have helped shape the person who eventually arrived at the prison gate.

The Kronos Project Facilitator Guide is not intended to recreate the fictional ten-month Kronos Project. Nor is a workshop intended to produce lasting internal change. It does something much simpler.

The Guide provides a structured way for inmates and a facilitator to begin exploring some of the questions behind Root-Cause Rehabilitation. A story. A question. A conversation. Perhaps a different way of looking at something that has always been there.

The Kronos Project Facilitator Guide is available on Amazon. Or, if you would like a copy, we would be glad to send you one.
