The Kronos Project is a joint effort between two organizations, a parent company who funds and/or manages the program, and the host prison where the program is conducted.
The Kronos Project curriculum will be wholly owned and operated by the parent company under the host prison’s security requirements, policies, and procedures. Prior to any Kronos Project implementation the parent company and host prison will have each agreed to their responsibilities.
No two prisons are the same. Therefore, each Kronos Project requires an initial ten-month pilot program in each host prison. An intermediary Kronos Project Architectural Team will help the parent company and host prison implement The Kronos Project pilot. This independent team will do this in stages, allowing the parent company and host prison to make decisions gradually and move forward with minimal financial risk.
The Kronos Project Architectural Team will:
(1) help guide the parent company through the initial pilot collaboration with the host prison;
(2) develop a unique pilot blueprint for the parent company and host prison, coordinating the Kronos core curriculum with the host prison’s infrastructure, security requirements, policies, and procedures;
(3) help train the parent company’s pilot team;
(4) assist the parent company and host prison during the pilot’s ten-month pilot program if needed;
(5) assist in the data analysis at the end of the pilot program to help the parent company and host prison assess the sustainability of future Kronos programs in the host or other prisons.
The cost of a Kronos pilot will vary from prison to prison. There is a separate Architectural Team expense to the parent company for each of the above five tasks.
A joint effort between a parent company and a host prison provides a holistic intervention to bring about inmate transformation. Properly implemented by a knowledgeable and skilled intermediary, The Kronos Project becomes replicable and scalable in other states and prisons.
